Hey guys so I have a 1989 yota pick up with a 22r AND 4 speed which is awesome with 2 Weber 40 carbs and a nasty camcam man I love it but I know I love Mopar also so I was curious on if it would fit in the body obvious that some hammer tourcher welder love needs to be added but still great plate form but I want that V8 love which i know I'm not alone so what would I have to do for the engine and trans to sit comfy on the mounts and frame

 

I think you might be on your own with this one, but you can MAKE anything fit if you are determined enough and good with a welder.
The big problems will be:
a custom driveshaft
getting the exhaust manifolds to fit around steering and frame
oil pan clearance
A whole bunch more weight on the front suspension
hood clearance
room for a radiator and fan
wiring
mounting for the alternator and power steering, and room for them
V-8 power to a rear end made for a 4 banger
no weight in the back (should do GREAT smoke shows though!)
Good luck and post pictures, I'd rather go chevy myself though.

I am not a Mopar person was a V8 ever a option in the Dakota??

Unless your really a glutton for being frustrated and are looking for an excuse to be out of the house and spend lots of time doing trial and error fitting of parts and spend lots of $$$ having custom parts made

 

Yup all this stuff plus what Wyo added.
The Dodge "LA" engines up to the 340 weight 500+ lbs. A 22R weights roughly 250 lbs.
You will need to deal with that weight on all the components (front suspension mostly) that will be carrying that weight. Then once you get it going, assuming it stays together, you might want to stop it. So, there will be a big (expensive) brake upgrade in your future.

I would lean toward a small Toyota V8 myself - but there would still be a lot of work.
