Turn motor for valve adjustment 3VZE

I am doing a valve adjustment on a 3VZE and to the point of turning motor to get to TDC #1 cyl. I cannot get to the harmonic balance bolt. Does the fan need to come out for this or is there a better way.

I read the bolt is 19mm is that correct?

You may need to get to it from underneath the truck. There are also wrench flats on each cam that I used when aligning the cams for the timing belt install.

you can do it from below, but you'll have to remove the lower engine cover/skid (if you still have it).

or, remove the shroud and fan. there are four bolts to remove for the shroud, and the fan also has four bolts. you will need to loosen the alternator prior to removing the fan, though.

takes about 10 minutes to remove the shroud and fan. easier to rotate the engine from above, too. ymmv.
