Parts prices
Hello out there I’m not real mechanical but I can turn a wrench anyways I was wondering when it comes to used parts what are reasonable prices. I know a lot depends on what condition it’s in and what part are you looking for but as a general rule what is a good price on wiring harnesses or engine computer or tail light covers or a driver door. Stuff like that I’m just asking cause I know sometimes it’s better to buy brand new then other times it’s not necessary to get a new one but if y’all could just give me a general guide I would appreciate it thanks guys.

Well you can check the prices on picknpull's website to get an idea. If there is one nearby I would start there cause it's cheaper than buying from individuals looking to turn a profit.

Sometimes rebuilding your OEM parts might be a better course of action as well, I got very good at changing Champion afternarket starters last year while my rebuilt alternator hasn't missed a beat .
Look for OEM parts that are not being sold at the dealer, for example Beck/Arnley OEM ball joints are half the price of Toyota but the exact same part with the same markings.
At the end of the day if my original toyota parts lasted over 300 000km it really encourages me to buy new ones from the dealer when they fail.

I mention this because I have seen too many people come to this forum saying their starter went bad or something, replaced it with the generic $19.95 special parts store brand, and cannot figure out why the starter only worked for a week, only to find out the cheap starter they had just bought has failed...... for the third time....... in the same week.........
Beck/Arnley is a repackaging brand so you have to be careful and inspect what part you get. Sometimes you get OEM (which is awesome! ), and other times you could get a cheap Dorman part where duct tape and glue might be a better fix and last longer....
