Truck motor started cutting out and and stalling. sometimes it would restart and go, some times it would restart and die again. Now when it dies I have to disconnect the battery for about 10 mins and it will start and drive fine for a while. This is a problem that has slowly gotten much worse over the last month. thank you for any help

 

3.0 Manual or Auto ??

I am guessing the normal Tune Up items have already been done?

Plugs wires cap rotor !

Do the easy first when was the last fuel filter change ??

Does it die real slow or just quit like you turned off the key

How long does it run for while driving miles ??

Does it still stall while just sitting idle ??

 

3.0 Manual, Yes all tune up stuff has been done. It will idle fine sometimes for a few minutes then starts to cuts out about 7 to 8 times and then dies. Some times it won't start at all until I disconnect the battery for ten minutes, Sometimes it will drive all day other times it will only make it a few blocks and it cut out a few time and die while driving. When it does that I pull over disconnect and reconnect the battery and it starts right up. I don't drive it far because of this. It has been doing this for a while but it has gotten much worse. thank you for your time

 

Sounds like a poor connection

Getting the charge light on before it stalls ??

Unless it is your battery terminals I can`t think why removing and replacing does anything

If the system Voltage drops to low the ECU goes into hibernation the engine will quit.

Time to break out the meter
