LT Brake Light and Rt Turn Sig issues

Hey y'all,

I've been using these forums and they have been amazing to help with my 79 Toyota Pickup. My current issue though, isn't listed so I thought I would ask.

I have a 1979 Toyota Hilux with a bit of a wiring nightmare.

Back up bulbs were missing when we bought it, because if we put them in they are on all the time.

Right turn signal blinks, left does not. Instead, when I press the brakes the Rt brake light illuminates, WITH the left Turn signal.

We have the wiring diagram and found all but the tail light relay. It isn't by the kickplate by my left foot.

any ideas?

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Suspect poor wiring and poor connections first.
Did you inspect and clean ALL your connections? By All, meaning ALL, not just the cliched "check grounds".

Again, did you check your connections?
Did you check if your backup switch in transmission is dirty/shorting/stuck?

Right turn signal blinks, left does not. Instead, when I press the brakes the Rt brake light illuminates, WITH the left Turn signal.
Do you have same problem with turn signals in front?

You do not seem to have issues with "TAIL LIGHTS" Why look for tail light relays? Tail Lights are the ones that stay on when you turn dimmer switch combo / stalk to first position, before headlights come on.

Figured it out. Back Up Switch was covered in tranny fluid, and needed to be cleaned.

figured this out when I removed the back up bulbs and all worked normal. Put the back up bulbs back in and it's a circus again.
