I have a 85' xtra cab w/carb, air cond, electronic automatic overdrive! Hurt the transmission and sent it to be repaired through a mechanic! Mechanic died without telling me where the tranny was being repaired! I had to buy one w/o having the core or knowing how to identify it! Bought 2 wrong trans. A40 and an A43! Of course neither had electronic overdrive! Bought an A340e w/5 year warranty! The Bolt pattern on this A340e is different than other 2 trans. the bottom 2 bolts are supposed to be 8 in. center to center this bell housing the holes are 7 in center to center! All Trans. should be the same length however dimensions differ w/depth of bell 10', body 13' for the A40 & A43 this A340e transmission dimensions bell depth 6' body 17' if 22r, re, rte have same bolt pattern at rear of engine how did I get a trans. that wouldn't line up! There had to be a change in the blocks for the bells to be different bolt patterns!
