Greetings everyone. I'm having an issue with a leaking clutch master cylinder , hoping I can get help with.I have noticed leaks from the master, not from the
fitting itself. Sad to say it's an Autozone brand, I have changed it 3 times in one week due to leaks, which is starting to make shifting somewhat harder than usual.
Is there a brand that someone can share with me that is somewhat durable than the Auto zone brand. The life time warranty is nice to have, but braking it down + bleeding 3 times in one week is not worth the hassle. Thanks for the help.

 

While some might disagree, I recommend a "Aisin".
Never had a problem, a little more money but worth it.
Also what are we working on here?

I've had mine replaced 3 times in 4 years due to leaks. Finally did it myself and got the Aisin. No leaks so far and works smooth and quiet. 2 of the parts store brands were squeaky on install.

 

I will suggest the aisin too, I've had one on for three years leak free, and I replaced the soft line to the slave cylinder with a stainless one and haven't even looked at the clutch system since.

 

I had a bent clutch start button bracket, which was giving me a hard time changing gears. So I had bleed the clutch system. Since I had warranty on the clutch master cylinder from Auto zone, I decided to change the master cylinder. Since then it's been leaking.
What is the price you paid for that brand? An where?

They are all over the internet, it's been awhile, got mine on Ebay.
Also make sure you get the pedal free play right, some people keep bleeding unnecessarily thinking they
still have air in the system.

For most Factory parts, you can find them on the internet for about the same price you would pay at a part store. Stay with what the factory uses and you will have far fewer problems. Last time I checked the dealer they wanted $88 for plug wires. I get the same Denso wires from ebay for about $27 and that includes shipping. The dealer is about the same price for some tune up parts as the part stores. I will ask a dealer what they charge for a part and then look for it on the internet.

Aisn and Denso are the most common parts but there are many other brands that the factory uses. Well worth the time and effort to look for the factory parts. Too many part store brands have failed out of the box for me.

 

As long as your having fun changing them and you don`t mind getting stuck along the road .

It really is a pain though when every Auto Zone within 100 miles has them on back order for 30 days or longer

I got cheap after-market from O'Reilly. A few months later, it started leaking again. What a waste of time.
Fortunately, a very good O'Reilly salesman WAS ABLE TO FIND ME AN AISIN DELIVERED TO SAME STORE FOR ABOUT SAME PRICE as replacement.

After-market OK ...
