What's needed 3.4 swap?
whats needed for a 3.4 swap in a 91 4runner auto with the 3.0? I can get the motor harness and ecu. But what else do I need? I was told the only other thing I need is a cold air intake. And everything else bolts up. So will my automatic tranny, motor mounts, exhaust and everything else bolt right up?

I not seeing much of anything for a automatic. I can get a t100 for parts good 3.4l and auto tranny. So like I said I don't see much explaining what's needed for a 3.4 swap in a automatic runner

That Is why you need to do some research. The 3.4 is about a bolt in to an auto.
what year is this T100 with an auto transmission? Your 91 4runner has a passenger side output shaft, later T100's have driver side output shaft.
we aren't trying to be jerks but you do need to do research. A 2nd Gen Auto 3.0 to 3.4 conversion have been done a lot.
get all the parts you can from the donor truck..heck you are better off buying the entire truck so you end up with most of the stuff you need

Having your donor vehicle sitting within a few steps is so much better then having to make numerous trips looking for a specific part from one year .
Automatics are much more common then Manual transmissions in 3.4 4runners
Buy a automatic 4runner bring it home your good to go scrap or sell the leftovers .
Have you not noticed 3.4 exhaust is on the right where your fuel tank is ??
Have you thought how your running the exhaust ??
Then the matter of swapping the battery and air cleaner housing
The merging of the wiring harnesses between the vehicle and the engine don`t forget the OBDII female plug

I'm in the same situation right now. i went into this expecting it to be a couple day job. MANY HOURS LATER! i have the motor bolted to the tranny but the mounts are not lining up. I have both 3.4 and 3.0 mounts in my possession . i used the entire mount of the 3.0 including the part that bolts to the block. Was i just supposed to use the 3.0 lower rubber mount? and attach that to the 3.4 piece that bolts to the block?

With no clue just what your working on pretty hard to answer questions
Manual or Auto did you start with a 3.0 or 22R series??
It can take days just getting all the codes to clear
Not enough research ??
Pictures of what you have would be great .
Don`t line up by how much several inches ??

Wow i appricate the quick response! I have a 1992 4runner auto with a 3.0 and Im putting a 3.4 that I got from jdm depot in New Jersey so idk what it came from so the harness is gonna be a nightmare. But i have full mounts off the 3.4 just dont know if I was supposed to just use the bottom half because it's not lining up. I'm at work now I can provide pics later. But there off by about 2-3 inches.

Just where do you live ??
Help might be close at hand .
I have a 92 4Runner 3.4 with a 5 speed
Is the body keeping the engine trans from coming far enough forward.
I am guessing the engine is sitting to far back

For what it is worth
I always bolt the lower part of the engine mount to the frame first
The upper part to the block then line things up.
**I need to look you might have the mounts on back wards like the right and left sides swapped ***
***You need access to be able to bolt the upper and lower mount together from the outside of the block ****
Like I said is the transmission keeping the engine from coming far enough front.
Maybe the Crossover pipe just how did you make yours

Mine had the 22re engine so I had to move the frame mounts.
I have no idea just what mounts ended up on the engine
You have read through all the stickes and threads in the 3.4 swap section
Tried searching for what Engine Mounts to use ??
