Second that.

Turn headlights on. Make sure low beams come on.
Switch to high beam. Still no light, of course?
Find Pins 5 (Red-Yel Wire) and 13 (wht-blk) of dimmer combo switch . Jump 5 to 13. Got highs?
If you get high beam, it's bad contact between those 2 pins. You may be able to clean or fix. However, the flaw in headlight wiring of that generation where current flows on thin wire over a convoluted path (ask 4crawler) and though the dimmer-combo switch will shorten it's life again.
If you still don't get highs, jump pin 5 directly to shiny, bare metal ground. Got highs? If yes, it's bad connection between pin 13 and ground.

Rad4Runner as always thorough as heck
x3 on your switch
to replace,
disconnect battery
pull steering wheel,
remove column cover
disconnect multi pin connector (usually bolted under the steering column)
pull switch,
replace and repeat

you may find there is a difference between the combo switch for a tilt column and non tilt

Thanks, Robb.
I have not actually done the dimmer-combo switch myself, I do not know if the test points are accessible for troubleshooting before pulling the steering wheel.

Check 4crawlers website, not sure if it applies to a 93 but cleaning the contacts as he shows, worked for my 89.

cleaning the contacts works on multiple toyota vehicles. cleaned them on my '87 4r (and added an H4 harness/relay), and cleaned them on my '91 celica, which is harder, because there is an airbag in the steering wheel pad to deal with.

Conversion harness is essential for brightness and extending the life of the dimmer-combo switch.

Red face

The sad fact is quite a few can`t look at the print and then look at the plug/ harness and have a good understanding of both

Then Toyota Schematics are some of the most simple to understand compared to what I need to work with.

Good job as always
