Engine oil for 3.0?

How many quarts of oil do you put into your 3.0??

If I can read correctly, the manual says 4.8 QTs??

Either way, the new oil is so clear that I am having a hard trouble seeing it on the dipstick to adjust it.

I put five quarts in.

Need a fast answer, please.

I always put in 5 quarts. That seems to be just right.

When I had my '90 with the 3.0, it would take 5 1/4 to 5 1/2 quarts (with filter change). I'd put 5 qts in then run the engine for a minute or two and then top it off after it sat for 5-10 minutes.

My Haynes manual says 3 to 4. Nothing specific.
Go by what the owner manual says.

I put five in right now.

With sun light tomorrow, I'll double check and make any adjustments if need be.

I do remember putting 5.5 the last time but it seems too much.

I do exactly the same. I put in 5 qts (if the filter has been changed), then start it up and run it for a minute. Then, I check for the proper level. I usually put somewhere from 5.25 - 5.5 qts in.

3-4 qts of oil is definitely not enough (at least for the V6).

4.75 is right on the money for me.. That is one of the things I like about my Wrangler.. 4 quarts.. Yep, I bought one of those gallon jugs (I only need one!) High end stuff for that baby too, I got a gallon for like $5.75 at the parts store the other day... but it has 185k on it and runs better than the 4Runner has in the last 2 years.
