80 amp ignition fuse holder broken

Hey, been a while since I have posted. But here it goes
In trying to unblolt the fuse from the fuse holder (i did lower it out of the fuse box) The plastic bit that held the bolts stripped. So the fuse holder is useless. Is there a decent place to replace this or does anybody have a recommendation for an aftermarket 80 amp fuse holder and or breaker setup.

Did you ever find an answer to this? Mine melted, and I don't want to have to replace the entire fuse box, only the little box/holder it sits in..

I would bypass it, and buy a maxi fuse holder and 80 amp maxi fuse. https://www.delcity.net/store/Maxi-F...20group%20%231.

either that, or rob the holder and fuse from a wrecking yard or parts truck.

not a good idea to put an 80 amp fuse in something rated to 60 amps....

It all decides the gauge of the wire going into the fuse holder,. I only posted the link for the generic picture of the fuse holder. I was not trying to find the person the part they needed.

Have a look at 'ANS' type fuses and holders. They come in ratings of 50, 60, 80 amps and higher. You can get a nifty little fuse holder for them too. They're about 2" long and about 3/8" wide and 3/16" thick. I used them to fuse the alternator and after the battery disconnect switch for all loads (not the starter) on my 83.
