I'm new to Yotatech, but I've had Toyotas for years. Now that I'm getting older, I want to do more of my own work on my rig (1988 4runner, 306k).
I have developed a big oil leak and I've narrowed down the source to this engine component. It seems to be spilling oil on to the passenger side. Can anyone tell me what it is? It doesn't look familiar. I don't remember seeing anything similar on my 1994 pickup. I checked the owner's manual and didn't see it listed on there either. I thought it might be the power steering pump, but it doesn't look like the right part.
I'm afraid it might have been a modification that the previous owner did. Hopefully you guys can ID the part and give me an idea on how to fix the problem.
It is for the exhaust air injection. Not sure how the oil is coming through it though. I have had this situation when the front main seal goes and the oil slings out from the crank and the fan blows it everywhere.
