3VZ Valve Lifter/Bucket/Puck and shim kit?
Anybody know where I can get a kit with 12 lifters and the shims? I've found the lifters on Rock Auto.

But I can't find a shim kit that's for the 3VZ, are the shims universal? Thanks so much!

Shims kits cost a fortune, and might not even have as many of a certain size as you might need. You need to know exactly what sizes you need to get just those. You can order them from Toyota(for individual shims)or various online sources. Cylinderheadsupply.com is a good site for ordering kits or 4 packsYou need 34mm shims. I think I've even seen some on ebay.

At a brick-and-mortar dealer they're about $20 each, online I've picked them up for $10 each. So the if you can find a size that will work on eBay, that's the way to go.
But just what are you trying to do? Do you have 2 heads, all missing the lifters and the shims??!! To figure out what shim you DO need, you need to measure the clearance with the shim you have and figure the difference. You might have to buy one minimum size shim just to get the measurement at each valve.

Thanks! I hate waiting for more parts, but that's how it goes. I would rather get it done right the first time.

Deal charged me about $10 a shim. They range in size from 2.20-3.40mm with a 0.05 diffrence between shims.
0.05mm = 0.0019 inch
You will have to know what size shim you need by using a feeler gauge to check your valve lash and then increase or decrease your shim size to bring it into the correct tolerance.
If I remeber the valve lash is
Intake 0.007-0.012
Exhaust 0.009-0.014
verify in the FSM that this is correct !!! I don't have my notes or the FSM in front of me.
The lifters/buckets don't really wear on s 3VZE so replacing them is kind of pointless. With 240,000 miles my stock lifters had under 0.001 inch of wear. Not sure you you would want to replace them in the first place but if you are dead set on it they are $22 per bucket from the dealer.
Ofds are are your valve lash is a little tight from the valve stretching over time so a smaller shim may be needed however it may only be needed on a few valves.
