Sons truck
Just bought a 1984 4Runner for my 21 yr old son. 185k miles, 32 inch tires and I followed him 225 miles home. Thank God it made it home. No smoke or coolant leaks. He's learning now. In six days he's replaced the rear brakes (shot of course) and many many more things to come. New radiator on the way, new sunroof seal, replacing the oil ump o ring and seal, steering damper is going to be ordered but don't know what brand. In a nutshell here it is. He's got a project. The 4 wheel drive is stock and works to perfection although the solid front axel needs seals I think. Fluid levels in all systems is good. Here we go on a money pit but it's been his dream truck for 10 years. No rust at all, anywhere. I teach paint and body at the local technical college and I told him I won't rebuild a rust bucket. Body is 100% solid. Has the factory everything, even the radio with factory equalizer.

Sounds like a good deal .
These older trucks do take some tender loving care.
Be good to track down a copy of the Factory Service Manual
Once up to speed he will have a great 4Runner.
I had a money pit once but she ran off with her girl friend.

Pictures will come in a bit. Need to replace the brake master cyl. Heater valves are shot. It's going to my shop Monday to replace the oil pump seal and o ring, brake mas cyl, and anything else we can see to fix.
