Rear Differential; Spins After Pinion Seal Change.

89 4runner V6 Auto.

With the auto box in park and the rear drive shaft locked, I can spin the wheels. There seems to be no load on the diff.

FYI. I just replaced the rear Differential pinion seal. If it is relevant, I also did a rear brake service.

What am I doing wrong? Your help is appreciated. Michael

Normal, if open carrier differential, and both rear wheels off the ground.

When you spin one wheel, the other should turn the opposite direction.
