Bull bar or Grill guard
#2
Personally I'd suggest you put your money toward a real aftermarket bumper instead of a damage multiplying accessory. Bull bars/push bars and grill guards attach to factory bumpers which aren't designed to take the extra leverage in event of even a minor accident - they tend to bend and hit other body parts like your hood, etc, hence the common opinion of them being "damage multipliers"
There ARE some who've found or fabricated similar bars, but are structurally sound and designed to actually protect. I can't think of any since they are definitely not common. Best option for most people is to get a stout aftermarket bumper, either tube or plate style. I'd say there are at least a half dozen options for your rig and I think all of them have an upper bar/bull bar option.

Good choice. Check out pics of Toyotas here or do some image searches to see what you like. Many styles being produced these days then here's always custom. Trail Gear winch plate is what I plan to use to base my own plate bumper off of in the future.
