So this is strange, and I've read through many previous similar posts, but I'm not seeing what I need...
Hi beams work, as well as running/parking lights and turn signals etc etc etc...
However, when I need my low beams, sometimes they work, sometimes not. sometimes they cut in and out driving down the road. Sometimes only one of the low beams works and the other does not. (wtf)
When they are not working, the hi beam indicator comes on.
fuses good, totally new headlights (the whole assembly, not just the bulbs, I've switched them to leds and yes my wiring is solid)
Fairly certain this is a wiring/contactor sort of issue
Sometimes wiggling the switch works, sometimes bumping the steering column works, often nothing works... please help
Does anyone have access to a diagram or otherwise experience that would tell me where to start looking for this gremlin?
Mods please forgive me if this should have been posted in the electrical forum... I've been reading these boards for a while, but this is my first post.
In this several hundred pages of official Toyota goodness, you can look up your connector part number, and find the p/n of the repair wire for that connector. Some connectors use more than one type of repair wire. The manual shows this. The repair wire is the metal contact with a short length of wire attached. The manual also explains the tricky feat of how to get the old contact out and slide the new repair wire in. Then you splice the repair wire to whats left of the old wire.
The dealer will be happy to sell you a repair wire if you know the p/n; he won't look it up for you. At least mine won't.
