Is this a sign of bad TPS? 22re

I was checking my tps resistances following manual.

the .57mm .87mm, wot, and last test, all check out.

but 0.0mm I was getting about 2.8k Ohm, instead of .2k Ohms.

I think the TPS is not properly returning closed because if I open throttle then snap shut, it will read anywhere from 2.4 to 3.4k Ohms. But if i Wot and slowly let down throttle, it can read up to 6kohms, then slowly go down to like 4.5kohms.

I am pretty sure, this means its not closing properly, but I am new to these this kind of vehicle work. the thing is that my idle seems fine when running at operating temp. and when I jump the diagnostic switch, the idle does drop, but very minutely, i can't really tell on my tach (maybe 50rpm?), but i can hear it drop just a hair.

My truck failed smog for running rich. While I can't see black smoke from my pipe, there is definately black soot on bumper. and if i put my hand in front of pipe, it'll shoot black specks into my hand. i believe gas mileage is still decent (18-19mpg on my 86 4x4), also butterfly valve appears to be closing just fine. I haven't removed it yet because I don't have a new gasket for it, and I'm not quite ready to drop 100 bucks on the part.

And a follow up the question: if it's not closing properly I'm assuming I will just have to buy a new one.

There's no gasket for the tps on a 22re. At least mine didn't have one?

Easiest to put the Allen bolts in rather than the Phillips bolts so you can tune it in the truck rather than on the bench. Make sure your dashpot isn't sticking. When mine went bad it was at the idle position. First thing I noticed is the truck wouldn't 'engine brake'. If you know what I mean.

Interesting, well, we will see when I take mine apart.
I triple checked to make sure the dashpot was fully down when taking the measurements.

I just think its wierd I don't have any symptoms.

also, the black soot coming out of exhaust seems to have dissapeared. perhaps it's byproduct of using seafoam..
