Hi yall finally getting time to work on my 88 pickup again pretty much stock except the ghetto flatbed. It was my dd for 5yrs until head cracked, thanks to engbuilder got everything I needed to
rebuild it. Then the rear end craped out what luck. Now I'm hoping to get it back on the road and trails.
Here is the rear end pretty crazy it still work fine sounded bad
Trying to find pictures of my engine rebuild new head and 268 cam from enginebuild new bearings .20 over pistons oil pump water pump the whole 9 yards great parts awesome customer service, bought a 1200lb clutch from marlin crawler pics hopefully coming soon
Well been pretty busy so no progress till today hopefully gonna get my rear end put back together with a factory 4.88 so no 4wd till I get the front changed pic coming soon
We'll rear is getting close need to put new whell bearings in so done for the day tried to set the tach in sr5 gauges it was in a 3.0 tried to remove cover and cracked it I think I should call it a day
If the gauge set you are replacing doesn't have a crack you can use it. Just hold it over the new one and drill a hole for the odometer knob. Terry87 did it on one of his builds so there's pictures somewhere on here.
I cant see which guage you have but if it is the hash mark gauage, I would not pull the speedometer needle off to set the correct mileage. They tend to break. I posted on the SR5 gauge thread on another way to correct the mileage on it. It is a Youtube video I found.
