1987 22R-TE Runs rough after changing head

Hello,

I recently changed the head and head gasket. The truck ran fine for about a month but started running really rough.

I changed the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor just before the head gasket blew. I also changed the PCV valve and checked the timing and its all good.

I'm at a loss as to what to check next.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rough when? At idle? On accel? All the time? Moving, or not?
Rough how? Like chugging, dead hole rough? Or more sputtery, stumbly rough?

All the time, more of a stumbly rough.

Ignition issue. Best found by viewing the ignition pattern on an ocilliscope. You may want to defer this to a shop, if nothing else to minimize the parts you buy. See what they say, check back here.

Took it to a shop and they hooked it up to a oscilloscope and they learned that it was only firing on two cylinders. My wire harness to fuel injectors was really tight, so when reattaching the connectors two wires broke over a months period after replacing the head gasket. Changed two connectors, runs like a champ now.

Good call on taking it to a shop by the way! Thank you!
