Fuel injector cleaning prices?

What is a fair price to pay for fuel injector cleaning. My dealership here in CO just quoted me $140 to run a chemical through the injectors to clean them, without removing the injectors themselves. I seem to remember someone posting that they had their injectors removed & cleaned for about $150.

thanks

I think RC engineering does it for $20 per injector if you mail it to them.

Try to find a shop that uses Motor-Vac units. Chances are your dealership adds a 3 dollar bottle of BG44K and calls it a day.

How hard is it to remove the injectors, and is there an advantage to having them removed & cleaned vs. just having the dealership cleaning?

Hey guys, I MAY be a BG sales rep soon, so your worries about price may be over. I'm up for a second interview next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me...

I had mine pulled and cleaned for $125 and it made a noticeable difference in performance and I've never used anything but super unleaded.

Ultrasonic

When they are cleaned with them out of the car, they clean them ultrasonically, it's more effective than just adding a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank.

Dealer? what's that, never heard of one. We only have Stealers here. As you can see, I'm no fan of them either.

What's the turn around, estimated, for this job if I were to pull my own and send them to a play like this. I could afford to be down but not for weeks, only at most 7 days.

EDIT: I just emailed them to ask price and turn around.

I had my injectors from my '85 runner cleaned and "rebuilt" by RCengineering. They ran pretests and post test and gave me some data when they returned them. If I recall it ran about $25 per injector and they came back looking and working like new! Cheap and easy route to take. (not to mention their customer service was OUTSTANDING.)

Thanks everyone. What is involved in pulling the injectors? Is there a detailed description on the process available via the web?
