87 4runner rear wiper - How it goes?

Okay... heres my rookie question. after owning 5 toyotas and this being my second 4runner...

What is the proper way to assemble my rear wiper?
I bought this one without it.

So at the stealership I picked up a wiper and some screws.. and off a yota tech guy I got the slide piece.. (that slides in)

Pics included.

So I assumed that the to wiper and the little clip that it has (sort of a spring piece) went on first... then the slide piece then screw it in....

I wish I got a print off at the dealer when I order the parts but it appeared that the slide piece went on the back of the arm.... the threads are in the arm... so I'm confused and its cold.. I put it on several ways and it didnt seem to sit right....

okay... ya... that helps... I'll definitely have to grind down my little slide piece so its seats then the wiper turns off..

And your wiper must not clean the rear window very good at all.....

Cool. It may not be the sliding piece. Check the adapter that slides over the arm tip and holds that little pin. I saw that as a problem when I used aftermarket adapter.

Adapter?

I'm not using any adapters... I was trying to stay as close to stock parts for it.
I have the wiper blade from the stealership...

Is that my problem? Is it better to have an adapter ?
Or am I missing an extra spacer on there?
