I Seek Guidance Please

This my first post to the forum so here it goes:

I inherited my paps 95 4runner with 259000 on it and 30x9.5x15 tires ( wish to go a lil bigger), cold air intake and air bags on the rear...

Out side of that everything else is stock.

Question(s).

All fluids will be changed along with wires and plugs....so....i ask for advice as to what you suggest as upgrades

Primary use is going to and from work and my daily driver...

Wish list...better fuel mileage, added power (15-20 hp) but most importantly longevity of my paps truck

Thank you so much in advance

Don't use cheap oil or parts. The rest depends on how much money you want it to go faster.

Toyota dealer for OE parts, or http://www.lceperformance.com/ or https://www.marlincrawler.com/ are a couple good places to browse.

I used Castrol high mileage blend 10/40 in my 22re before my rebuild and never had an oil related issue. The odometer showed close to 300,000 but I only put 30,000 of those on and don't know if the motor was original or not. The rebuild was due to losing a coolant bypass hose and overheating. Which is also when I found out my temp gauge wasn't working very well. Stick to Toyota filters. Often AutoZone sells 5qts plus a filter for $21. I have a stack of those filters since I don't use them.

Also stick to Toyota plugs/wires. The plugs are only about 2 bucks. The wires are pricey but worth it. You will read all of threads with people having issues that come down to wires.

Welcome to YT

X2 on toyota oil filters
I use rotella T6 synthetic oil, 5w-40

If it's a manual tranny make sure to use an oil that is safe for yellow metal. Most that the parts stores sale around here are not. I found a good deal on royal purple on amazon.
