Torque Specifications for Chassis/Suspension for 81 Toyota
Hi , i have a 1981 Toyota 4x4 and I'm doing a full rebuild of the truck, now I'm at a point where i will be putting everything back together , and i would like to know if there is a Manual for the Torque Specifications , such as for the U Bolts , Lift Kit and so on. I think i still have the Manual for the truck (not sure )but since its a bit old and dusty its a bit hard to figure out where to look.
I am not a mechanic or anything so i cant really know how much i would need to tighten hence why i am asking you guys because I'm sure you're more experienced then i am.
And if anyone has got some tips for me feel free I'm eager to learn. This is my very First Project so I'm a newbie
Thanks a Lot!

This, and the rest comes with experience! As for suggestions, I suggest when you remove parts put them on a bag or box and label everything! Also, calculcate your budget before, and expect to bust it by at least 20%-50%. It is also easy to lose motivation when the whole thing is appart and it seems like it will never end, so make sure you have fun doing it and make a plan!

The biggest problem i am having at the moment is money. I'm still in school and with a part time job i can only do so much . But i am trying to do most of the work myself so that at least i can save money that way. As for the labeling i am already doing that with most of the bolts, put them in a zip lock bag and name which part it comes from. Putting everything back together is fun for me it gives me a bit of challenge + i took over 100 pictures of it before and while taking it apart for reference.

Right on man! I know what it's like, I don't make a lot of money and managed to completely rebuild my truck in 8 months eating kraft dinner and stopped smoking to use the money to buy parts, doing a little bit at a time. When I was held up because of money I'd work on something else free to keep the motivation going. Sometimes it looks like it's not moving foward but remember that every little thing you do gets you closer to the end, the first time you'll take it out it will all be worth it, trust me! Just have fun man and post up a build thread so we can give you ideas and suggestions!
