Rear clunking noise

Thanks to you guys I've gotten the windows sorted out and now on a hunt to figure out the noise from the rear.
At low speed a bump usually causes a single or double loud clunk. Mostly quiet at speeds of 30 mph or more but then not hitting bumps much.
Spare is up tight and cat, muffler and tailpipe very solid. What else is likely?

Going to pull the rear wheels tomorrow and inspect the shocks. Understand they will clunk back and forth if the bushing is shot. The noise seems to also occur at modest speeds when changing lanes and when upshifting to 3rd on a straight line.
Any hints as to what to do to test them would be helpful as I don't know much (yet) about them
Also any brands to choose or stay away from. I do not do any serious off-roading.
