1990 4runner sr5 dash with oil pressure gauge cluster

So new to the Yota community and need my first bit of help.
I purchased a 1990 4runner about three weeks ago and started chasing down issues. My current problem is the oil pressure gauge is not working. Its giving indication that the sending/pressure switch is out. Pegging one way or other( low/Hi). I researched this week while at work where it was what the replacement looked. I pulled it today and it does not look at all like the replacement i ordered. Im not sure if its gonna work.
So ill post pics of the unit out of truck the connections and see if anyone can help. The unit I pulled has a pigtail connected to it to reach the connection to wiring harness. the placement has aplug on back of it. Im assuming that this is the orignal equipment and the replacement will come with pigtail to plug in. Any info would help thanks.

Welcome to Yota Tech!!

Toyota part compared to aftermarket.

If you bought a Toyota part sometimes things get replaced because of a different vendor.

As long as the new sending unit has the same resistance as the old one it should work.

you might have to make your own pigtail if the harness is to short.

Sounds more like a bad connection or broken wire.

Why did you not put a mechanical gauge in??

Well it is definitely a bad connection the pigtail connected the oil pressure switch is hanging on by a few wires out of the strand.
The rig needs a lot of work and the gauge just telling close to what I'm working with is fine for now.
The parts guy told me they sometimes come with pigtail which has never happened before but we will see. Thanks so much for the help.

rockauto sells the sender.

None of RockAuto's senders have pigtails.

Any chance you have an aftermarket setup? For instance, is there a splice in the harness on the gauge-side of the pigtail connector?

That's the problem I'm running into. Not sure how to wire it in. I went to the toyota dealer and got a part number and looked it up and it looks like the rock auto version. The counter guy insisted it would have the pigtail on it. I googled the part number and it's similar to rock auto part maybe a maybe from toyota?

Check the year prior or after and see if they have a pigtail? I just had a '93 3vze dropped into a '92 4runner and the sending units were not interchangeable. fyi
