Hey all, I have a 86 Toyota 4runner with a 22re. Engine had roughly 500 or slightly less miles on it since rebuild. It has new forged std pistons, std crank, new head, new timing set, new oil pump, water pump, plugs(ngk), cap, wires, anywho I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot. I know the vacuum lines and screwed up but it still ran great till Thursday afternoon. I noticed my heater wasn't working at all so I decided to flush it so I did and I know I got some water under the hood and on the fan which slung it around. Well I put it all together and burp the system. I go drive it and it has no power below 2750-3000 rpm's then it's like you flip a switch bam it runs amazing. Running down the road it does skip intermittently. And on decel it pops and slightly backfires through exhaust. It also skips at idle intermittently.

I have already used contact/connected cleaner on all connections I can find. The tps, vafm, ignitor connectors, distributer internals, distributer connector, wd-40'd the plug wires, and inspected cap and rotor ( less than 500 miles) at first I was thinking I got something wet but now I feel it may just be a coincidence. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Any help is much appreciated!! Need this thing fixed as I hate driving to school and pulling out of the parking lot at 15 mph then all the sudden it's like a Rocket and the cops think I'm racing them! Ugh.
