Question about selling my 4Runner...
Let's just say I'm too lazy to return my truck to stock. Would items such as the TJM, lift, etc. offset the mileage reduction or should I expect to get what the vehicle is worth stock?
Just curious cause my 97 has 131K miles and I don't want to give away all those goodies... but I'm too lazy to break it down

Depends on who you sell it to. If you sell it to someone who cares about such things, or someone who was planning on doing those mods anyway, you might get a bit more for the truck because of the mods. If you sell it to a soccer mom who doesn't care one way or another that the mods are there, you'll probably only get what it's worth stock.
To the general public, and to people who know what they are doing... the majority of the time mods do not affect the value of a vehicle. In some cases, engine mods can reduce the value.

I like the mods but I won't buy a vehicle with them if it is to be my everyday driver. I usually figure some high school kid owned it and didn't take care of it. I figure a stock vehicle has probably not been off-roading/raced near as much as a souped up 4x4.

Unless you sell it to a wheeler, you might actually get less for it than stock. Most "normal" buyers prefer to buy stock as they believe it is less risky and they will have less problems with it.

ya what they said..BUT i have been looking for a MKIV for the past year and it seems the opposite is true! you can't find a stock one with low miles...bastards...you should list your mods as to many of us on here would buy them and you could maximize your gain/loss on your vehicle...

Well, it's back to stock I go... I wish I didn't sell off most of my stock parts that I had replaced. I guess the only major investment would be the front bumper and running boards.

Bamachem is selling his running boards and if you want to do the 99+ bumper swap, Waskillywabbit has his for sale also.
BTW, you have any pictures of you rig?

if you are really going to put it back to stock, i would be interested in your front bumper and i live in GA and have a 1997 with the same color scheme, maybe we could work out a trade of some sort? I also have my stock running boards and stock suspension if you are intersted in that stuff too.
