Fried SR5 oil gauge

Well, just got a new (to me) truck and the oil gauge in the sr5 cluster doesn't work. Definitely has the on/off light type sender and it's plugged in so the gauge itself is fried.

Has anyone successfully repaired one of these? Or looked at a fried one to see what exactly happens? I can't seem to find anything online about actually fixing them. Seems everyone just tosses the cluster...

Thanks!

I had a non functioning oil pressure gauge sending unit issue in my old 85. Went down to the parts house got a new gauge and pressure sending unit. Unscrewed my old unit. Put the new one in. Ran wire and had a accurate gauge. Very worth while mod if you ask me.

When I did my swap, it looked like the oil pressure gauge was just a coil of wire, so you might be able to rewind it yourself.

Yeah I'll open it up and see what it looks like inside. Hopefully just a fried resistor or something.

I do want to put an accurate aftermarket gauge in the truck but that one in the cluster is real easy to notice. It would nice to have both!
