93 Front brake job

93 Front brake job
Been reading alot on the web but wanted to throw this out here... I need to replace the pads in my 93 pickup and have done so in the past..easy no problem.
My question is I have never really done anything else. I bought rotors about 40 K miles ago (cause I thought i needed them) but went and measured them and they were fine. Truck doesn't pull or have any shake when brake is applied, but i do have alittle more wear on one side then the other. When I drive slow or move the rotor by hand the pads rub slightly on the rotor which tells me the calipers are not fully retracing. I have never replaced anything else in the brake system except for the pads. Wondering if I just need to get a few plastic bags and cover the rotor and unbolt the caliper and give them a good spray batch with break cleaner ?
Thanks in advance.

The pads rubbing on the rotor is normal. I would say if you can turn it you are fine. I would use a c clamp and try getting the cylinder on the caliper back in all the way. If you can't you may need a new caliper. But if you can I would assume it's freed up and your good. Check them some time down the road and if it's still wearing funny replace the caliper for sure.

Brakes went well, although I did learn something during the process. I noticed one of the pistons in the passenger caliper was hung, I was able to push it back with a clamp and screw driver. I went ahead and sprayed it with brake cleaner and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Then with the pads out i hit the brake pedal to see if the piston would come out on its own...it didn't but the other ones did and could no get one of them back as I have 'blown' one of them out. After hitting the web I realized that is no no. So note to others never hit the brakes without pads in them. Calipers were 40 bucks with core swap and was super easy as only 2 bolts held them on. Bleeding the brakes took about 10 minutes once my girlfriend and I got a system down.
So new brakes and new calipers....but I noticed I had some oil under the transfer / differential case so will get down there with some engine cleaner and see if I can pinpoint where that is coming from....
