Throttle Body Vacuum Lines
#1
3.0 Auto.I checked the three vacuum tubes running out of the throttle body and the one for the charcoal cannister is very clear and the other two for the EGR vacuum modulator are not as clear and are difficult to blow air through.Should all three be the same?I tried cleaning them with a guitar string but could'nt get it through. If I got a wire through would it have it's own seperate passage? How should I clear these out?I'm getting code 71 and I'm thinking this may be the problem.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Guitar string, now that is creative. I was going to suggest welding wire.
But yeah just replace those suckers, in fact if they are blocked that means they are old and it wouldn't hurt to replace all the vacuum hoses

But I'd take a look at what is supposed to happen first. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...77exhaustg.pdf Then I'd just pull each tube off the EGR modulator and use my thumb to test for vacuum, as I moved the throttle plate. Since this vacuum is only moving a small diaphragm, you don't need much flow, so if it is open at all it should work.
Only once I confirmed a lack of vacuum would I mess with sticking wire into the throttle body. I have no idea of the internal structure of those passages, so I wouldn't know how to safely poke something in there.

Went to Pick A Part this weekend 50% off sale and got a couple parts.I tested all the same throttle bodies and they all matched the flow of my throttle body.I think it's normal and not clogged.Q and R(EGR modulator)medium flow and P(charcoal cannister) has heavy flow.I am not sure though,it could be they are clogged and it's a common problem.I checked 4-5 throttle bodies and they were all like mine.
