Unhappy No power to the fuel pump

I have a 1988 6 cylinder EFI Pickup and I was driving home from work one day and it just shut off on me, there was no sign of it having any troubles or problems before shutting off it was running just fine. I thought it was the fuel pump so I bought one, dropped the tank, pulled the old one out and tested it but it was still good. So I left the old pump in the tank. I checked the yellow plug that plugs into the pump from the truck with my multi meter and I wasn't getting any voltage with the key on or cranking it for a few seconds. So thats my problem. I have no power to my fuel pump and Ive read all the forums and have found the circuit opening relay and believe that it works just fine. When I turn the key it clicks (I am more mechanically inclined than electrically) I tried jumping the FP and the +B and still, no power to the pump.

I need the truck back online as soon as possible so any and all information is useful, just keep in mind that I am better with the mechanical stuff and not so good with the electrical so please explain the electricals in depth if you would please and thank you.

Perhaps now would be a good time to get up to speed on your electrical skills .

Just because you can hear contacts close does not mean they are still intact .

.If your sure the COR is good it can only be in the wiring or loss of ground connection

Did something happen hit a really hard bump in the road .

Driving through really deep water some places close to here got 11" of rain in a few hours.

Just how are you trying to measure the voltage at the fuel pump connector??

Since you don`t say where you live and this truck is after all almost a senior citizen in truck years is it possible the ground point on the right fender has gotten pretty bad .
