I bought a 92 22re to swap out the the 85 22re. Kept orignal wiring for the 85, connected everything. Got to the computer and noticed the plugs are different, is there adapters? As of right now, I turn the key, hear a click and an electrical whine thats high pitched. The starter isnt turnjng at all.

 

If you are sticking the 92 motor into the 85, you need to just use the motor and stay with the wiring in the 85. The injectors are different between the two years and the 92 will have more emissions components. You should be using the 85 computer. There is no need to be swapping them around. The 92 will also have a different TPS. You need to just use the long block and stay all 85 for the electrics.
