Two questions - getting hot and can't go fast

I drive a 1986 Toyota 4x4 22r 5 speed with 33x12.5 tires
1. Why does my truck get so hot it pulls the hood in a little when I drive for 10 minutes or so a. I can barely touch the engine.
2. My truck barely does 75 mph thats it wont go any faster. Wth 33x12.5 tires in 5 gear.

What do you mean by "pulls the hood in a little"?

FYI, in the future, please add the subject in the title. I did a bit of editing on the original title.

Adjust the hood further forward a little.
Your probably on stock gears trying to pull 33's. Your 22r is what 100hp?

I'm not for sure how many hp a 22R has. Yes I believe my truck is still stock. Gear wise what would I need to upgrade in order to pull 33s> Would I damage any thing if I continue to pull 33s ?

It's in the FAQ's. But probably 5.29's. You will wear your clutch faster depending how you drive

I run 32's with stock gears and it hates hills, ive done a few power adders as well. I cant imagine what 33's feel like on the truck. Go to a smaller tire IMO. It might even help with your overheating problem,I think thats what your asking

Keep in mind also that if you're running 33's with stock gearing (assume 4.10's) and a stock speedometer, 75mph on the speedometer is more like 85 or so on the pavement. Your engine is probably pulling better than you think.

None for Toyotas that I'm aware of. Those are your choices

select the gears based on tire size.

5.29/37" tires is about perfect on my odometer, and the speedo is within 3-4 mph.

that's with a true 37" tire... the 34.5" tires i ran with 5.29s were fine, but you can tell the difference.

4.88 gears will run you probably around $250 and up just depends where you buy it and the brand.

And also it's also wearing the engine down which means making the engine run harder and hotter trying to pull those 33s.
