ultra low gears?

I started Driving my Pickup again and I got to wondering. What the hell is with my gear ratio. I have a 22RE in a 92 P/U so Im assuming that I have a W56 transmission. So it must I must have some alternate differentials in there. The guy who I bought it from wanted to make it a rock crawler.

I went to this site

http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html

and used the W56 tranny. and the only way for the RPMs to match the speed was to change the differential ratio to 5.6. 50 MPH (had a pace car) at 2500 RPMs

Does that even make sense to find a differential that low or am I doing something wrong. The RPMs are just to freaking high on the freeway

Red face

Put some big tires on to compensate for the low gears or change them.

You couldn't ask for a better reason for larger tires.
