Piston Stop damaged piston 22re
I forgot to remove the piston stop and I rotated the crank by hand all the way through TDC. The piston stop was only slightly touching the piston and I didn't notice any additional resistance rotating through TDC.
The piston now has a slight indent (about the size of this text).
Does the piston need to be replaced?

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try and add a picture tonight.
I was looking for cracks and didn't see any but that's looking through the spark plug hole.
Would doing a compression test, by hand rotating the crank, indicate anything?

ooohhhhh ohhhhhh!!! Harbor Freight has a inspection camera that is cheap....one could use it and take it back if you didnt want to keep it. (Id keep, cause they are cool, but dont make any jokes to the woman about using it...you will get slapped.)

Lol is that coming from personal experience?

(you ought to mike a spark plug first; I'm not sure a 14mm camera head (16mm HF) will fit easily. But you can get camera heads down to about 7mm for a little more money.)

No. You'll never be able to crank it fast enough to tell the difference between ordinary blow-by and a crack of any size.
Or you could just save $75: http://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-End...ords=borescope

I seriously doubt there is a hole of any sort. I just thought the scope would at least set your mind at ease.
