Just bought this truck. It had been parked in a pasture for 12 years. I replaced fuel pump, fuel lines, distributor, fuel filter, plugs, plug wires, and installed new fuel cell in the bed. Tank had about 1" of varnish in it and couldn't get it clean. If I pour a lil gas in the carb, truck starts and runs great. Shut it off and try to start immediately, wont start. filter is full of fuel. when not running carb will not squirt fuel. I think I need to rebuild the carb, but what could be wrong with it to cause this?

 

Varnish does a number on a carb if sits too long.......clean it up or get a rebuilt, should solve the problem.
