86 SR5 sbc swap

Well the time has come, the 22RE spun the #1 rod bearing and a buddy had a 307 bored .020 over and a fresh rebuild from his 72 chevelle he gave me along with an edelbrock RPM performer intake and 600 CFM carb. I went through the engine and installed small chamber heads to bump compression up and installed a comp cams 268 XE into it. I am using the stock W56 and transfer case from my truck, I overhauled the trans and filled her up with redline heavy shockproof oil. The rear end is equipped with a detroit mechanical locker and stock 4.10's and I'm using the stock front IFS diff. So far I have done one brake torque in her (need to get exhaust built, the floor pan and shifter are getting mighty hot) and nothing has broke yet . I'm using advanced adaptors bellhousing, mounts and headers along with a stock plastic and aluminium V6 rad with a huge pusher fan on it and at an ambient temp of roughly 5 degrees celsius she would not climb past thermostat temp(180 degree) I guess when it gets plus 30 out it might be a different story.

Since I don't want to do a body lift I'm modding the hood into a cowl style scoop

Nice work, I like your idea for the cowl hood, look forward to seeing it finished!

I'm nearing completion on the hood scoop, just a bit more welding, grinding, shrinking and stretching left. I've almost completed my flat deck as well, then some minor body work and good to go. I'm also toying around with the idea of painting her tacoma speedway blue.
