Cool Want to swap out AT for MT, whats involved?

I have a 93 4runner that I would like to replace the AT with a MT. What is involved? Are the shafts the same? I am sure the mount is different, is there any problems changing out the foot peddles, Any problems mounting slave cyl, any wiring to worry about, etc.
Also I have found a 99 MT with only 125 mi on it for 500.00 and was wondering if it would fit behind the 3.0 v6, It came off a 3.4 v6.

With your 99 because it is OBII if you need to get emissions done .

The wiring can be a little interesting you need to do some repinning on your ECM other wise the MIL is on all the time.

You also have the neutral safety switch.

The rear drive shaft is different not sure about the front without double checking.

Running the hydraulics is pretty straight forward.

your really better off buying a complete parts truck other wise you will forever be running for something

Flywheel and clutch kit is a given.

I got two engines with this 4runner and one had a manual flywheel, so I am good there.
I have found a guy on Craigslist parting out 4, 4runners so I can get a peddle assembly, mount, shafts and even a 93 Mt for 200.00, but no shifters.
The 99 MT is interesting because it is basically new, but I was worried the engine to trany bolt pattern might be different on the 3.4 engine, if it's not I might pick it up.

Oh yeah, the slave cylinder. Is there a stamping on the firewall for mounting a slave?

Your slave cylinder mounts to the bell housing .

I just am drawing a blank right now on weather the holes are there for the master cylinder or if the need to be put in.

On the 3rd gens the holes are not there so I am assuming on this 93 you will also need to drill the holes.

I assume the cyl mounts to the right of the brake booster and there are NO holes there.
I also assume the firewall is not thick enough metal to support the cyl and will need some sort of stiffener.
I will have to look at another 4runner to get the exact location for the holes.

What does emissions have to do with OBD2 and swapping a transmission?

OP:

You can use the 99 trans but you'd have to use the bell housing from a 3.0 manual trans and you'd also have to run a transfercase adapter so you can use a gear driven case and get the front output on the passenger side.

well here in Pa if your MIL is on one does not get a sticker.

The condition causing the MIL to light must be fixed.

Which is fine if you never leave your own land.

If your OBD II vehicle has a automatic trans and you swap to a manual without repinning your ECM the light is always on.

So if the OP needs to pass it won`t that is what emissions has to do with swapping a transmission!!

Hence the statement if you need to get emissions done
