1999 4runner Rear driveline universal joints 4X4 constent Velosity

Have a 1999 4runner SR5 3.4L V6 automatic 4X4 the 1 piece rear driveline, has 3 Universal Joints. All the joints were worn out, clicking, Vubration ect. NAPA said we have the U joints so took it apart. Only the rear joint fit. the 2 front joints (in the CV housing) are smaller in diameter 28.57mm or 28.58mm NOT 29mm like I keep finding. Called Toyota they said only available in complete driveline $875! On line $500+ All I need are the U-joints. Driving arround on the front diff in 4wd HELP! ANYONE Know where to get some?

Try the part number PUJ387 from napa.
It's a greasable ujoint for the Tacoma's. It fit my rear most joint on my Tacoma and was suggested by my 4Runner buddy.

Hello Scuba, Nope, cap diameter is 29mm on POJ387, I need 28.58mm. It's starting to look like the bone yard or paying a machine shop to bore out 8 holes on my drivline to fit the #387 Joint

A couple guys have done this before, though it isn't as easy as the rear.

Hi aowRS, Has 181,000 on the Odometer. I have since found a U-joint that works rather well. The Front driveline U-joints from the C/V at the Transfer case end from a 1985 Xtra Cab 4X4 will fit. They are .005" longer through the crossbar (the thin Clips that came with the NAPA U-joint fix this part of the difference)the diameter of the caps is .002" larger. a few minites with some 600 wet & dry and they slid in with the normanl amount of pressure. 4runner is on th road and HAPPY! Thanks for all the replys. Dave
