i want to swap my current 94 4runner 3.0 mt 4x4 for a 3.4
i have a lead on a 97 t100 3.4 mt 2wd

wondering if it will work

2wd t100 is your best bet for the swap. It will have basically everything you need

 

Are you saying you want to swap the 3.4 engine from a 2wd into your 4runner but keep the 4wd or are you saying you want to swap the 3.4 with it's transmission and make your 4runner into 2wd?

You can swap in the 3.4 and bolt it up to your original trans and keep it 4wd. I've done it and there's lots of info in the engine swap forum

both the 3.0 and 3.4 ecu take a signal for 4wd. I don't know what they do with that signal but they are most likely there for a reason. Can you use 2wd stuff... sure. Will it work the exact same? Nope, but it will still work.
