OK my truck doesn't have side mirrors....question is...the driver side has mounting holes in the door where one used to be. However the passenger side door has nothing to mount to? I'm confused. How did they come from the factory mounted? I know this truck had them before.

 

is there a plastic cover where the mirror normally goes? some trks had larger mirrors mounted below the window, the door may have been replaced and they never drilled the holes to install them.

 

Passenger door is bare...no holes...no plastic cover. That's what I was thinking too. This was my grandfather's truck and I'm about 95% sure he never replaced the door. So I'm really confused.

 

it may have just came that way?? I know my 4runner has two different side mirrors and the drivers side one is useless unless your 4 feet tall( it doesn't move up or down), dunno if its like that on all 80's models but just thought I would throw that out there.

 

That's what I needed!...there must be something to it then. They may have came from the factory like that?

I dunno about toyota pickup trim options, but it was very common pre-90s vehicles to only have one door mirror on base model vehicle. Drivers side and rear view were the only DOT requirements or something of that nature. So it's possible it never had one. Toyota definitely did it in a few models, my moms old corolla from early 80s only had drivers side mirror from factory.

 

Nah never had any on the fenders. That's pretty interesting tho. I know this was a base model truck so that had to be it. Only came with one mirror. Thats pretty crazy!

 

my 4runner is a base model too, reading this makes the two different mirrors not seem so strange to me any more
