Smile 1990 Toyota 4Runner New Sound System

I am looking to replace my back speakers right above the rear wheels in my 1990 4Runner. I am wondering what the best speakers I can put in that area. I heard it is possible to put 6x9 speakers in there so can someone confirm that?

There is one huge problem I need fixed. I replaced my front tweeters right under the glove box and steering wheel. And I got a new stereo system. All of it I did myself. But when I play my music through the Bluetooth feature through my phone, only the front tweeters work and not the speakers in the back. When I change the setting on the stereo system from Bluetooth to Radio, both the front and rear speakers (which are the ones I want to replace) work. But the front speakers on the radio setting do not play loud at all and can be barely heard. I have tried turning everything up all the way when I am on Bluetooth but I cannot hear any rear speakers. I have also made the audio balance tune all the way to the rear speakers and still nothing. Please help!

I have 6x9 speakers in my 94, they will not just slide in. You have to get these plastic speaker extender box things that will make the speakers protrude a bit out of the normal interior wall of the car. It doesnt look too bad. I will post you a picture later.
