No its not the battery. No its not the alternator. Brake fluid is full. Connector on the back of alternator is fine. Battery connection is fine. New battery and alternator charges great. Starts and drives fine. Just those two lights stay on. I'm stumped. But glad my blinker fluid is still full.

Sounds like you have checked the most common problems. Only suggestion I could make is to remove your speedometer cluster and clean and reseat the cable on the back of it. If that doesn't fix it, you will need to start tracing wires and a meter and see what is powering up the lights.

Just figured out what was wrong with mine today. Pretty sure it is the relay. Pulled it out, lights went off. The dealership wants 175 dollars for a new one. Going to the junkyard tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

The lights will go out when you remove the relay.

On that relay when the coil drops out the contacts close .

so removing the relay will turn them off.

look for a corroded or broken wire in the alternator harness

Hello 87 Turbo Regal: Thanks for the heads up on your light problem! My 85 is doing the same thing. Where is the relay located?

Thanks again, lerod

ive also read here that the reverse lite wires that go to the switch rub on the t-case and short out and can play games with the alternator. just a thought. one of my trucks that has a body lift had wires starting to rub on the steering shaft down by the alternator. one last thing you can check is the e-brake switch. just a few ideas that might help.
