3rd gen brakes on 2nd gen truck?
Hello all-
First of all, sorry if this is has already been asked. I searched the forums and googled around, but couldn't find an answer. I have a 1984 pickup on 35's. The front brakes are the factory calipers with non-ventilated rotors. I know people upgrade to the v6 rotors/brake hardware, but I happen to have the front end of my old 1989 pickup laying in my yard. Would those calipers and wider rotors fit up to my 1984? Its been raining outside for the last three days, and I like my fireplace too much to go and try it out at the moment. But it seems like the ventilated rotors and better calipers from the 1989 would be a significant improvement over the brakes that are on the 1989 right now. Anybody had any experience with this??
Thanks in advance
Kai

Rotors probably won't work since the 3rd gens are 6 hole rotors (for the 6lug studs). And the hub on the solid axle requires 8 hole rotors (6 for lugs, and 2 for attachment bolts), such as on the 84-ish FJ60 Land Cruiser...
