have a 93 toyota pickup truck 4wd n the windshield wipers quit workin when I tried to remove some snow moved only a couple of inches then stopped n haven't worked some. No noise is comin from the wiper motor. Any suggestions what It could be? I've also replaced all fuses

 

To check to see if the motor is shot I guess you'd have to take a multimeter to the wires connected to the wiper motor.

 

Swamplife, find the fuse box near driver side left panel and check fuses. If fuse is good, and you hear NO NOISE, then it's your motor. I recently found one for $19 (or 18?) on ebay and it's an easy job. Before you go buying a motor it's worthwhile to point out that my wiper motor was completely toast and it still ran, albeit very weak. So I imagine if it is getting power you SHOULD hear something and maybe even see movement.

Check your fuses!

 

The fuse at door under the steering wheel was burnt a lil could that be it

 

Yes. assuming burnt looking means burned fuse.

 

But I just replaced em all n still nothing

 

Not to hijack a thread, but I noticed my windshield wipers sometimes cycle down past the bottom of the windshield. If they're not on I can also push them down past the bottom of the windshield. Is there supposed to be some sort of stop to prevent this?

 

Swamp life, did you check to see if motor is getting power? Use one lead of multimeter on ground and the other on the hot termjnal for the setting. Check fsm for pinout.

Hockeyy88, I dont think there is a stop. If the blades go past the bottom of the windshield yet they work fine otherwise, just tak off plastic cap at base of each blad undue nut and remove and adjust. However unless something is wrong they should move! So check to see if the wiper motor is on the frame tight.

 

i have a similar problem, my int. wipers dont want to go, motor tries to go but sometimes the wipers will just go a few inches and stop and the motor is becoming over worked... any ideas?

Before you change the motor, see if it is getting any power. It could also be the relays. My 1991 4runner has relay waterproofing issues and things like this happen after wet events.

If there is NO POWER to the motor, then do not get a new motor. Find the wiper relays and test them.
