spitting and sputtering after warm up

I had a ground wire come loose from my efi relay reconnected the wire and then she just started running really weird. Now when she warms up she acts like she has no power and sputters under a load. So frustrated I just got her running great and now this...? The engine is an 89 22RE if anyone has the answer please send me a message or a reply to this thread. I love my truck but she has been terrorizing me for a year tomorrow. I don't know what to do????

I don't own a 22RE so I can't speak to your specific issue, but search the forums using the search bar. This sort of issue comes up fairly often and there's several solutions that I've seen, including bad VAFM, mis-adjusted TPS, etc.

ground wire

re-ran and soldered ground wire haven't started the truck yet to see if it took care of the problem or not will get back to you on this. thank you for your response

problem still there not sure why

I thought it might be because I changed the fuel filter but that should make it better not worse..right??? I believe its in the EFI system somewhere still in progress. I have replaced all the injectors, the fuel pump, fuses, time switch, thermal sensor, EFI relay, alternator, battery, volume air flow meter, idle air control valve. I have completely overhauled the EFI intake and throttle body and throttle cable,!! checked the setting on the TPS and now I am down to the wiring harness. Oiveh!!!

Check the other grounds. Any vacuum leaks? How is the fuel flow? I remove the return line off of the back of the fuel rail and feed it into a jar. It should fill a quart jar in roughly 45 to 90 seconds. Gives you an idea of fuel flow. The crimps to the injectors are a poor design in the harness. I have seen those cause issues as well. Seems like you have covered your bases really well.

I fixed all of those grounds except #4 I have never seen one connected to the intake. But I am not surprised the wiring was a serious hack job that I am sure I will be working on for a while. I also corrected the injector and time switch wiring it was originally jammed in the wiring clip for the starter coming form the battery(I am guessing) because it was hanging over the starter and just not connected. I started up the truck today and there is a noticeable difference in the way she starts and runs...huge smile. thank you for your post it helped and helped confirm that I corrected some issues that needed done
