Clutch is sticking from being dirty. Is it fixable?
My starter had been loose for a while without me knowing it and dirt, water and road scum got into the the flywheel and clutch area. Now the clutch is all or nothing when applied, no sliding into gear smoothly. When I let off the clutch it will stick all at once and jerk violently even when using lowest rpms and letting off clutch as gently as possible.
Is there anything I can do to restore normal function without replacing the clutch? Can I spray in there with some solvent, degreaser, carb cleaner etc to clean it? Is spraying it with water from where the starter is a good idea?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Or just let me down easy if I need to drop the tranny and install a new clutch.
Thanks,
Scott

It sounds like you have grit on the Front shaft causing the clutch release bearing to hang up.
You can try spraying in from where the clutch fork comes out of the bell housing .
Know to do this correct your most likely going to pull the transmission back and clean things up .
At this point inspect the flywheel for damage might be time for a clutch if the flywheel needs replaces.

I bet you have a clutch line damper hose leak. This hose is/runs from fender to engine block on passenger side. Its funtion is as a shock absorber dampening the vibration between the body & engine. I had same symptom-problem on my T4R. Each end has a connector bracket.
