2uzfe swap in 89 pickup

I have an 89 toyota single cab truck with a 2uzfe swap with tranny, the entire stock wiring harness, ecu, cluster, and smog equipment. The truck has long travel suspension, with the stock 4x4 front hubs/spindle but have been modified for the suspension, and custom built rear end with ford explorer rear hubs. The ecu is throwing a p0500 code (vss sensor). The abs light is also on. The speedo and odometer do not work. I'm trying to find a way to fix this problem as I cannot instal the tundra wheel speed sensors as the hubs on my car do not accept them.

Anyone have any solutions? I'm thinking I may try splicing into the vss sensor from the transmission and connecting to the abs system as if it were the wheel speed sensors since they are the same type of sensor. Any thoughts?

Relax bud. The reason you haven't had any responses, is you've just signed up, no intro, just to pick the brains of other members, and get answers in less than a month.

Chill out, contribute your knowledge to other's who may have issues, and generally get yourself known.

Right now, it looks like you're just looking to receive, without giving something else back to the community.

Easy.

Get the speedo cable converter from trail-gear and a variable speedo converter such as Dakota digitals or super lifts. Then adjust it until I works. Basically you are matching what the abs sensor would be in output.

I have a 91 pu I put a 1uz-fe in and used it to run my v8. you can get a Visa from marlin crawler , it attaches to your speedo cable drive . Then I put a speedo head out of a 94 4-Runner and wired the thing up, computers happy and have speedo reading

Papy, have you ever done a write up of your swap? I have a 91 3.0 manual that I want to put the 1uz in. I can handle the wrench work, but I don't have much automotive experience and I have been scouring the internet just to figure out the process and parts needed.

I know that's a big ask, but I thought I'd better check.
