It is.
Marjamshi, common courtesy around here is to start out with truck year and engine style. Most people around here know nothing about diesel. You're going to get a lot of confused looks when you ask questions specific to diesels around a bunch of gas guys, especially if you don't start out your question with "I have a diesel".

Hahaha Sorry guys. Yes its a Dual Cab Diesel from down under. I didn't realize you don't have those dash lights on the US trucks. I cant find any info on them anywhere....just thought on the off chance....
I believe the timing belt light comes on after a certain amount of time so that you'll check it. Its not a sensor. The Filter light is for a duel purge and filter unit that sits on the firewall. it has a sensor on the top of the filter. Both are staying on.

marjamshi.
To turn off timing belt light. there is a rubber grommet on the bottom left of instrument panel. (speedometer) that u remove. and use a small screwdriver to push in.then reinstate gromment.U are suppose to reset the the timing belt interval also. This is done by removing the speedometer an using the Pitch gauge that comes with timing belt.

83, speak for yourself, I know a lot about diesel engines! Watch, I'm about to solve his problem. In order to turn of those lights, go into your tool chest and grab some wire cutters. CAREFULLY search through the wiring harness behind the gauge cluster and find the lead to those lights. Cut said lead and voila, lights off!!
And you said I didn't know anything about diesels! LOL
Marjamshi, where are you at in Queensland? My father-in-law lives in Gilston near Mermaid Beach.

Now stand back and get you some knowledge! LOL
But really, I'm going to have to learn up on some diesel engines eventually. I have a 4.0L 2H engine and a 3.4L 3B engine sitting around for when I get the time and money to build a FJ/HJ45. Wasn't sure which one I wanted to eventually use so I bought both for $1,000 total since they were both very complete and in good condition - perfect for rebuilding

Nice.
We live in a bit of a diesel wasteland, unfortunately...
Unless it's a turbo-diesel, Americans wouldn't touch it! Historically. Not enough get up and go.
At this point, though, my 20R is perfect for me. I'm very comfortable doing damn near anything on it, finally.
